What is testing and tagging?

Electrical testing and tagging is the process of checking the safety of portable electrical appliances.  This includes extension leads, power boards and safety switches etc.

What are the legislative requirements regarding testing and tagging?

If you are an employer or self-employed person you have a ‘duty of care’ to ensure that employees and visitors to the workplace are safe from injury and risks to health.  You must , therefore, manage any safety risks surrounding electrical hazards, in accordance with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 (the Act) and the Regulation. Who can inspect and test electrical equipment?

Who is a competent person?

A competent person (the Regulation, clause 3) is a person who has acquired, through training, qualification or experience (or a combination of them) the knowledge and skills enabling the person the perform the task correctly.  In this context, this task would be that of inspecting and testing electrical equipment. Do you work outside normal business hours?

Yes. By arrangement we can inspect, test and tag your electrical appliances outside normal business hours. *conditions apply

Do you have insurance?

Yes.  We are have Public Liability and Worker Compensation Insurance.  We can provide you you with a certificate of currency on request.

What are your normal business hours?

Our normal working office hours are 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.  Our inspection test and tag hours are flexible to suit your requirements.
